cars-925788_1920Auto accidents are an unfortunate, but common reality of driving the roads of Fort Lauderdale. Even famous entertainment personalities aren’t excluded. If you don’t have the proper legal representation, you could find yourself in a world of hurt in many ways. Consider a recent article for Miami.com titled “David Cassidy cited after car crash.”

The author of the article writes, “According to Florida Highway Patrol records obtained by the South Florida based celebrity website, Cassidy was headed west in his 2014 Silver Kia Sportage on I-595 around noon on Sept. 9. Witnesses say the former ‘Partridge Family’ star was driving ‘at a high rate of speed’ and ‘in and out of traffic.’ The front of Cassidy’s passenger side hit the back of a box truck. Despite the fact that his tire was blown out, Cassidy, according to the report, left the scene. A witness showed troopers a photo of his car and a the license plate and cops were able to put out a BOLO. Cassidy was soon discovered to be at the Cleveland Clinic Florida hospital in Weston for a scheduled doctor’s appointment. The 65-year-old was cited for an improper lane change, unknowingly operating vehicle while having a suspended drivers license due to a previous DUI conviction and operating a vehicle with a expired registration. Earlier this week, The Broward County State Attorney’s office filed a misdemeanor of the second degree charge against Cassidy for leaving the scene of an accident. Court date is set for Oct. 27.”
